Floral wire is acceptable, but you will need to remove it when taking down the decorations. All candles must be housed in a hurricane glass, and no sparklers are allowed. All decorations, flowers, and other embellishments, including flower petals and personal items, must be removed from Bon Vivant at the end of the event.
San Sophia and Palmyra Overlook at Bon Vivant are currently ceremony-only locations, though you may choose to allocate some of your rental time for a light cocktail hour at one of the many restaurants on-site for an additional cost. The satellite bar is great for a cocktail hour, or Tomboy’s Tavern, Allred’s restaurant if you’re interested in holding a larger reception. The Crystal Room is the only venue on-site at the Telluride Ski Resort that can host both a ceremony and reception all in the same space.
Since Telluride Ski Resort has an on-premise liquor license, Colorado law requires that Bon Vivant and all other venues found at the resort supply alcoholic beverages directly for your event. As a result, no outside alcohol is permitted. The bartenders are all experienced professionals and are certified in safe alcohol service.
In-house alcohol is offered by the Satellite Bar at the Telluride Ski Resort, and there are different bar packages offered by each reception venue – Allred’s Restaurant, Gorrono Ranch, Tomboy’s Tavern, etc.
For a ceremony booking at Telluride Ski Resort without a reception buyout, the deposit will be equal to the full venue rental fee. Otherwise, for both a ceremony + reception buyout, the deposit is equal to 25% of the total estimated charges.
Guests are not permitted to drive up the mountains to Bon Vivant or San Sophia Overlook. However, the resort has many transportation service options available, found in the preferred vendor list for both your wedding and rehearsal. We recommend off-road vehicles for this location.
For a wedding at San Sophia and Palmyra Overlook, there will be a 24% service charge, and 10.65% sales tax. Food and beverage minimums do not include taxes or service charges. The site fee itself is non-taxable, but there are taxes on food and beverage. There are no cleaning fees, if the venue is improperly damaged then a fee of $500 will be charged in lieu of a cleaning fee to account for the damage. Additionally, all events at Bon Vivant Telluride Ski Resort require event insurance.
There are limited accessibility aids in place to help individuals with disabilities, therefore individuals using wheelchairs may face challenges as the ceremony sites at Telluride Ski resorts are not paved, and consist of high altitudes. As a result, we advise that you check with your wedding party and approach their physician should they have any questions on whether traveling to this location,
Given that the ceremony sites themselves are located at high altitudes, and are outdoor mountain ceremony sites. Telluride Ski resort will honor your reservation – rain or shine. Therefore, there will be a solid backup plan in place that can be coordinated between our venue and your wedding planner. There is also a small 10×10 tent available for rent as a last resort.
